The objective of this project was to create a beach bar providing drinks and light meals not only to the guests of the Salinas Sea hotel, but also to the general public.

The beach bar is a fundamental facility necessary in a tourist destination, such as Sal Island, where an excellent climate and landscape promotes the enjoyment of its splendid beaches and sunshine.

The proposed structure accommodates a wide terrace, sanitary facilities, distribution of towels, storage area, and other basic utilities that contribute to the quality of tourism which this project aims to maintain, while adding value to an area of the beach that is still rarely used by locals or tourists. Access to this beach is naturally public, with a foot washing area being provided at the entrance to the beach.

The chosen construction system is easily demountable. Designed to be an articulated structure formed of treated laminated pine wood columns and beams supported on small concrete bases. The covered area consists of two zones with different characteristics. The first includes the less open zones such as bar, services area and public sanitary facilities, made of sandwich panels of very light composition, with acoustic and thermal treatment, supported by the wooden beams in this area. The second includes cover for the entrance, path to the beach and terrace areas, made of 90mm spaced pine wood slats and supported by beams that are an integral part of the structure.
